If you have the time and want to have a beautiful car trip through Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France, Monaco, Portugal and Spain, we have compiled a great route for you. You will be able to see a large part of Europe at a leisurely pace. During this car tour you will stay in a good selection of 3 and 4 star hotels, where you can always adjust the route to suit, or you can choose to stay longer in one place to get to know the area. We can customize your trip to meet your needs!
Day 1: Black Forest
Your first day begins with a scenic drive through the German countryside where we have reserved 2 nights for you in a beautiful location in the Black Forest.
Day 2: Black Forest
You can enjoy the wonderful nature, or visit one of the beautiful castles, for which this area is rich!
Day 3: Black Forest – Basel-Zurich (ca. 280 km)
From the Black Forest travel through to Basel where you can pay a short visit adjacent to the magnificent city of Zurich where we have reserved 2 nights for you.
Day 4: Zurich
You can spend these days visiting this rich and stylish city. It’s also fun to have a trip around the huge lake.
Day 5: Zurich – Lake Como (ca. 250 km)
From Zurich you drive south to Italy, where we have reserved 2 nights for you on Lake Como in Como place. This cosmopolitan city also offers you a wonderful stay.
Day 6: Como
Today you can see thenature around thelake oryou canvisitthefashion capital of Milan(about 60 km). Throughbeautifulmountain roadsyou can drivewithin an hourto Milanandyou will have plenty oftimetovisit this city.
Day 7: Como – Milan – Montecatini Therme (ca. 390 km)
You can spend the next night in the deluxe spa town of Montecatini Therme, chosen so that you are central to the sites of Florence and / or Lucca and Pisa.
Day 8: Florence – Pisa – Lucca
These daysyou have to choosewhich direction to go. The city of Florenceis located about35kmand is an absolutemust see. You could alsodriveto Luccaand Pisatosee thefamousleaning tower
Day 9: Montecatini Therme – Siena (Tuscany)
If you have chosen the previous day to visit Pisa, then today you will be able to see Florence as you drive through Florence to Siena. Siena is the heart of the famous Tuscany, and offers you a wonderful stay in the beautiful countryside and the surrounding hills.
Day 10: Siena
You can go today to the unique town of San Gimignano (45 km), where time seems to have stood still. You can also take the beautiful Chianti wine route, where you cross the most beautiful part of Tuscany.
Day 11: Siena – Genoa – Liguria (ca. 500 km)
Today you can drive along the coast, through the port of Genoa to the beautiful Riviera of Flowers. We have reserved hotels for you near Diano Marina.
Day 12: Flowers Riviera
Today you cangoexploringandenjoythe coast. You can alsoenjoy the beautifulsandy beaches.
Day 13: Flowers Riviera – Monaco – Nice – Toulon (ca. 250 km)
You drive along the Riviera from Menton to Monaco, where you have to experience this unique principality. It is worth visiting the Royal Palace, the marina or the casino. Then continue on to Nice where you can have a short stop in this well-known southern French town. Then on to Toulon for an overnight stay.
Day 14: Toulon – Marseille – Montpellier (ca. 235 km)
Take a quiet coastal drive through the big city of Marseille to the seaside town of Montpellier. Here we have booked an overnight stay for you.
Day 15: Montpellier – Barcelona (approx. 350 km)
You continue your route along the southern coast of France, where you enter Spain. You might like to visit the Dali Museum in Figueres. Here you will find a large number of collective works by this famous painter. Then on to Barcelona where we have reserved 2 nights for you.
Day 16: Barcelona
A full day to visit this wonderful city. You can take a sightseeing tour on a Hop-On bus which will take you past all the famous sights of the city and where you can get on and off anywhere along the route.
Day 17: Barcelona – Zaragoza (ca. 300 km)
From Barcelonayou can driveinland and stayin the beautifulhistoriccity of Zaragoza. Enjoy theSpanish life, the beautiful river that flowsthrough the cityand eat sometapas, forwhich the cityis famous.
Day 18: Zaragoza – Madrid (ca. 300 km)
From Zaragoza drive peacefully to Madrid. We have reserved a nice boutique hotel for you here, where you can drop the car off for free in the secure car park and quietly take the Metro to the centre of this metropolis.
Day 19: Madrid
A full day to visit this massive and impressive city. See the Plaza Mayor, the Royal Palace, the beautiful Prado Museum, or stroll through the narrow streets.
Day 20: Madrid – Toledo – Cordoba (ca. 400 km)
After breakfast you can drive within 1 hour to Toledo, a unique city which is on the UNESCO list of World Heritage sites. Here you can spend the time drinking in the rich history and typical Spanish atmosphere. Then on to Cordoba for your overnight stay.
Day 21: Cordoba – Seville (ca. 120 km)
In the morning you can visit the famous Mezquita of Cordoba, with hundreds of pillars built in achurch. Through the gates of the city you will find yourself in a maze of small streets. Remember to visit the famous Flower Alley. Then on to Seville for two nights. On request we can have 1 or 2 extra nights booked for you inGranada, so you can visit the Alhambra.
Day 22: Seville
This city is known for its typical Andalusian life. Visit the Plaza España, the ancient Santa Cruz district and the Giralda church. The city has so much to offer that you will really want to stay!
Day 23: Seville – Lisbon (ca. 450 km)
From Seville it is approximately a 1 hour drive to the border with Portugal. Along the south coast through the Algarve and Faro drive north towards the capital, Lisbon. Here we have two nights reserved for you!
Day 24: Lisbon
This unique city with a huge hill and many bridges offers you a wonderful day. Take a trip on the famous tram that takes you slowly up the hill. This city has many attraction to offer, so make good choices for this day!
Day 25: Lisbon – Sintra – Coimbra (ca. 200 km)
From Lisbon, it is imperative to visit the impressive Sintra with its famous castle and beautiful country houses situated in the green hills. Afterwards you can drive to the charming and typical Portuguese town of Coimbra, where we have reserved an overnight stay for you.
Day 26: Coimbra – Porto (ca. 125 km)
Today you canquietly drive along thecoast toPorto, the city of thefamousPortwineries, wines and theDueroriver thatruns straight throughthe old town.
Day 27: Porto
Enjoy this beautiful city, have lunch on the harbor with the delicious fresh fish or book a cruise, so you can see the colorful city of Duero from the water.
Day 28: Porto – Vigo – Santiago de Compostela (ca. 200 km)
After breakfast, drive north through Vigo and along the coast of pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela. Many pilgrims take the famous Camino de Santiago through which the French Lourdes Santiago and northern Spain has the ultimate objective.
Day 29: Santiago de Compostela – Leon (ca. 400 km)
Through the interior and partly through the route of the Camino de Santiago, drive to the city of Leon, known for its beautiful cathedral.
Day 30: Leon – Picos de Europa – Santander (ca. 265 km)
Today you continue north through the vast mountains of the Picos de Europa to the vicinity of Santander. We have reserved a nice hotel in Santillana del Mar in Santander.
Day 31: Santander – Bilbao (ca. 100 km)
Along the northern coastal road, drive gently to the famous city of Bilbao in the famous Basque Country. Here we have booked a lovely hotel for you and you can visit the famous Guggenheim Museum. Enjoy this last evening of Spain with tapas in a beautiful city.
Day 32: Bilbao – San Sebastian – Bordeaux (ca. 300 km)
From Bilbao you drive for an hour to San Sebastian, also known as the most beautiful city in Spain. Enjoy a stroll through this city and your farewell to Spain ends here. Afterwards drive back into France where we have reserved a hotel in Bordeaux for you.
Day 33: Bordeaux – Blois (ca. 400 km)
Today continue north towards the beautiful Loire region. This is also a nice conclusion to this long but beautiful European tour. We will book two nights for you in Blois, and from here you can visit Chambord Castle and the famous Loire valley.
Day 34: Loire
Today you can visit one of the most famous and most impressive castles of Chambord France. Here you will see an imposing castle with a rich history in a unique location!
Day 35: Loire
Your tour is over, many impressions of six European countries, summarized in a car tour which you can do at a gentle pace.
